| In earlier releases of OpenRPG the end-users required knowing and understanding HTML encoding to create nice looking chat effects. Pious Paladin puts the code in the background and makes it extremely easy for users to create a rich reading experience. Simple Basic FormattingThe simple basic formatting of bold, italics, underline, and strikeout stay in chat. New chat parsing features allow you to add these basic formatting quickly. Much like a chat with an instant messaging client, IRC, and even Facebook chat, users can wrap they text around special characters to perform simple basic formatting.
These new formatting features can be used in chat or inside nodes. Reads Like a BookNew chat parsing features also allow end-users to create a rich reading experience that reads much like a book. The past chat implementation absorbed written chat with the emote or out of character command, making an entire string look like an action even if it contained dialog. |

We are Evolving
- Features that we talk about here are features that are planned for the first stable release of Pious Paladin. In it's Alpha stage not all features will be available, and many will not work correctly.
Pious is a big change
| The new chat in Pious Paladin uses the WebKit framework. This is the same development kit used in the Safari and Opera browsers. The new chat allows for up to date HTML definitions, including CSS. We also know users want to focus less on typing a lot of HTML code to get the benefits of HTML. The many added features make it easier for users who just want to game. It's simple, but revolutionary because it's so simple. |
